Ms. Dowden is a 2007 graduate of Friendswood High School. She was a member of the Friendswood Wranglerettes, participated in choir, and was also a member of a local competitive dance team.


She accepted a dance scholarship to Blinn College where she was a team member of the Blinn College Treasures. Ms. Dowden served as Captain her sophomore year, receiving a full scholarship. She graduated with honors in 2009 with an Associate of Arts.


Ms.Dowden continued her education at Stephen F. Austin State University where she became a member of the award winning SFA Pom Squad. She again received scholarships for dance and became a Captain her senior year. She enjoyed the opportunity to compete on the university level with both dance and choreography. In addition to her work with the dance team, she was also involved in the dance department. Her senior piece was chosen to be adjudicated at the American College Dance Festival Association as well as the Texas Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation & Dance convention. She graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Dance and a minor in Business.  After graduation, she received a scholarship from Stephen F. Austin State University's dance program to attend the Dance and Child International convention where she represented the University's dance department.


She completed her student teaching at Clear Lake High School where she worked with the dance program. Ms. Dowden came to Clear Falls High School in the Spring of 2012 as a long-term substitute teacher in the dance department. She became the Assistant Director in the Fall of 2012. Ms. Dowden was named the Head Director in the Fall of 2014 and looks forward to continuing her wonderful journey with the enchanting Emeralds.

Ms. Westover is a graduate of Kingwood High School, Kilgore College and Stephen F. Austin State University.  She began at age 3 and has been training and competing in dance for over 20 Years.  She continues to attend dance conventions and master classes, and believes it is important to continue to learn, train and remain fresh in her own movement and ideas.


Ms. Westover was a line member and dance officer for the national champion Kingwood Fillies dance team.  As a Fillie, she held the rank of Captain her sophomore and junior years and Lt. Colonel her senior year.  During her time at Kingwood she was chosen Most Determined, Most Dedicated, Hardest Worker as well as Best All-Round Freshman and Sophomore by her Fillie teammates.  She received a college scholarship on behalf of the Kingwood Fillies, and the Triple K award for the most dance and community service hours.  Upon graduation, Ms. Westover became a member of the 74th line of the World Famous Kilgore College Rangerettes and was chosen as a Rangerette Swingster.  During her time as a Rangerette, she had incredible performance opportunities that included half-time performances during Dallas Cowboys football games, Dallas Maverick basketball games, two Cotton Bowl performances, McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade in Chicago, as well as a trip to Scotland and Ireland to perform which was highlighted by performing and marching in the St. Patrick's Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland.


After graduating from Kilgore with her Associates Degree in Fine Arts, Ms. Westover spent a year at Sam Houston State University where she was a member of the Orange Pride Dance Team.  She then transferred to Stephen F. Austin State University where she graduated with a B.S. in Dance and Secondary Education as well as a Minor in Human Fitness & Performance.  While at SFA, she was an active member of the Dancers Against Cancer organization raising awareness and fundraising to provide resources that assist patients and their families in their fight against cancer.  Ax'em Jacks!  


Ms. Westover did her student teaching in Tyler, Texas at Robert E. Lee High School, working with the dance department and dance team.  She is in her 4th year as an instructor/adjudicator for American Dance/Drill Team.  She has been successful as a soloist with numerous awards including multiple national and state titles.  She is also the recipient of two college scholarships from Crowd Pleasers.


Ms. Westover is excited to begin her teaching career at Clear Falls High School and working with the Emeralds dance team.  Her mission for her students is for each dancer to reach their highest potential as a student, a teammate, and dancer and to develop a strong work ethic and self-discipline that they will carry with them into their future.  Dancing teaches not only skills and technique, but also the dedication and drive it takes to reach goals.  She wants to inspire students to strive to be the best they can be, not be held back by their fears and to encourage them to enjoy it above all else.
